| WELLINGTON CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. ' Testimony to tlie general improvement in the conditions of Maori life were given by Mr. Ngata, M.P., at the .Maori Confess to-day. He instanced the pastoral pursuits in Waiapu and Cook counties, where the average clip of the Maori sheep had been increased 'in 10 years for 4%lbs to 7%ibs> sheep. He advocated setting up comniiinal instructional farms to be worked by one or two liapus of each tribe,' whereon young Maori men could Ik' taught agriculture. Hon. R. McNab, Minister for Agriculture, promised that if tho i 7 would set aside virgin land for such j farm his Department would supply instructors.
