THE HARBOR BILL.

The directors of the Moa Dairy.-Com-pany on Saturday passed a resolution, "That the Board of Directors approve the passing of the proposed New Plymouth Harbor Bill, and that a copy of tlus resolution be forwarded."

At a meeting of the Eginont County Council held on Friday last at Opunake, the following resolution, moved by Councillor Burgess and seconded by Councillor Conaglen, of Piluinni, was carried by six votes to three:—"ThisCouncil is in favor of the New Plymouth Harbor Bill becoming law, believing it to safeguard the ratepayers in our district in the best possible manner, and to be in the interest of the whole district, and requests Messrs. Major and Okcy to use their best endeavors to get the Bill passed." At the monthly meeting of directors of the Warea Dairy Company held on Thursday last the followiug resolution was unanimously carried; Warea Daily Company is strongly in favor of the New (Plymouth Harbor Bill, believing it to be very fair and in the interests of the whole district, and at the same time protests emphatically against being included in any rating area for the purpose of constructing a harbor at Opunake: (2) it i, of opinion thai the action of the iiiiihvay Department in charging three shillings a ton for carrying our goods two miles further from their destination is most arbitrary and unfair to this cuast, already heavily handicapped by want of railwav facilities. At the lluruugh Council "meeting last sight the Mayor moved, and Cr. Bellringer seconded, "That this C'oiinci hereby approves of the Now Plymouth Harbor Board Lmpowcring Bill, and considers it ill the best interests of the district that the same be passed b> Parliament: that a copy of this rcsolu-'j tion be forwarded to the I'riine Minister, the Hon. O. Samuel, and (he Tnrnnaki members of Parliament, and that they he requested to use their best endeavors to obtain the passing of the Bill.
