THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENTIONS. Received July 12, 4.30 p.m. London, July 11. The Premier, Mr. Asipiith, announced that tlic House of Commons will adjourn on the Ist of August and reassemble on the 12th October, lie hoped to pass in July the Irish t'niversities Bill, and would prepare a "guillotine" for the Licensing Bill for the outset of the autumn portion of the sessions. COMMON WEALTH NAVAL SCHEME. London, July 11. t Mr. Reginald McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, in reply to Mr. William liedmond, said the Commonwealth naval scheme requires much amplification before it can be fully considered from the standpoint of its possible adoption as an alternative to the present naval agreement.
