Mr. 11. Xntlall, of the Kahui Eoad, has leased his farm to Mr. It. W. Henimingway, and intends shortly removing to Auckland.

The local school resumed to-day after the mid-winter holidays. The many friends of Mr. James Yofcng. chairman of the Pnrihaka P.oad Hoard, regret .to hear of the accident he -met vfith in Uawera last week. lie had been to the Palmerstoii show, and was harnessing his horse prim- to driving home when the animal kicked and broke his leg. A very successful euchre party was held iu the hall on Friday night. There was a crowded attendance. The prizes were useful, if not ornamental. The ladies' prize, a mincing machine, was won by Miss IS. Wright, after plaving off with Mrs. Wright;'whilst the gentleman's prize, a saucepan and tin of herrings, was won by Mr. S. Coombes. After refreshments had been • handed round, dancing was commenced and carried on with vigour to excellent music provided by Mesdames Orr. Leng, and Wright. Mr. A. D. Fielder made a capable M.C. Itahotu will be practically deserted on the occasion of the British match in New Plymouth, as almost everyone is going in to see U. Several of our local resi- J dents also inteud going to Auckland to sec the fleet. I

Tlie Rahotu Bachelors arc holdingtheir annual hall on Friday. July 24th, and fully intend eclipsing all previous efforts. A meeting of the Rahotu Hall Bazaar Committee was held on Monday evening. Despite the inclement weather there was a good attendance (including several ladies). Air. James Garcic was appointed chairman, and Mr. L. Fischer secretary. A good deal of routine business was transacted. A meeting is to he held next week to definitely fix the date of the bazaar. With such an enthusiastic committee the bazaar should be eminently successful. •

Towards the end of the game between Opunake and liahotu on Saturday, an Opunake player named James McFie met with a nasty accident as the result of a collision with a Rahotu player, and he was unconscious for some hours. Dr. Harrow, who was on the ground, attended the sufferer, who is now progressing favourably.
