THE NAVAL AGREEMENT.
Melbourne, July 7. The Federal Premier (Mr. A. Ueakin) cannot understand the reference made by« Mr. G. Lambert, Civil Lord »f the Admiralty, in the House of Commons, to the Australian naval arrangement. He says be tas given the Admiralty ' everything that appeared necessary, and would be only too glad to supply more information. The "complexity" complained of must be in the Admiralty's own regulations or methods. [ln the House of Commons last week, Mr. G. Lambert (Civil Lord of the Admiralty), replying to Mr. W. Redmond, said the naval agreement between Britain and the Commonwealth was not yet concluded. The subject was an exceedingly complex one, and the Australian scheme required muolii amplification.]
