Auckland, Saturday. Two young men named. Schmidt and Cummins, charged with postal thefts, appeared at the Police C'ourl again t'iiis morning. The Crown froiicitor as|;ed for a further remand, stating that a veiy large amount of money was still unaccounted l'Or, and other charges wcic pending though not necessarilv against the' two accused. However, their release might interfere with Hie course of justice. Counsel for the defence strenuously proteded against his clients being kept in g- <u ,l. hut the Magistrate granted a further remand li c< l ,lo sday oil (lit understanding that, if the Crown did not proceed with the ease t'ifeii, the application f or bajj would not be Opposed.
