CARGO BROACHERS.

Wellington, Last Night. Two wharf laborers, Charles Lawson and Joseph Wiggins, pleaded not guilty before Mr. liiddell, S.M., yesterday, to charge of stealing from the J'liapeliiu eight bottle of beer, of tile value of Bs, the property of the Mew Zealand Shipping Company. Evidence was given by the fourth olliecr, Frank M. StephenSon, that at about a quarter to live ill the afternoon he noticed Wiggins suspiciously handling a ease of beer. 'J.li.e case was found to be broached, and aboiit six bottles missing. Wiggins admitted having taken two'. Later, the witness saw Lawson drinking from a bottle. With Constable Lecky the witness searched and found three bottles planted in various places. The defence was a complete denial of the charges. His Worship inllieled a line of .to each, or in default days' imprisonment.
