Received July 3, 11.15 p.m. London, July 3. In the House of Commons Sir Edward Grey stated thai the Persian troops which surrounded the British legation at Teheran have been withdrawn. The British Government inquired a written guarantee for the safety of the lives and property of the refugees before thoy were allowed to quit the legation, and - in the case of those accused of crime, ai. distinct from political offences, assur- • antes that they would have a fair trial ( whereat a member of the legation would be present. The statement was received with cheers.
