The proceedings were formally opened at the Land Ollice and 'were immediately transferred to tlie Art Gallery. The ballot was conducted by the Land Board. The ti'gnres in parenthesis indicate the ninnber of applieants in the ballot, and lots 3, 11, 21 and 2li went to preference applicants. Lot 27 is the one on which the homestead lies. Applicants for more than one lot who were, successful in a ballot were disqualified from auv subsequent ballot.
