Senator Dobson, of Tasmania, admitted that it was delusive to hope' that the State was able to take over iimucav atcly all tlui means of production and distribution, but, lie maintained, a gradual advance could be made.
Ahe 'Bishop of Perth condemned the sale of advorsons. lie advocated the election of Bishops upon the plan followed in the case of ; the Bishop of ■Bunbury.
Mr. Arthur lialfour delivered an address 011 the conflict of science and religion. lie declared that it. was impossible In conceive human society permanently deprived of the Teligious element, but personally he looked to science more than anything else as the great ameliorator 'of the human lot. lie did not believe those two great powers, to be in immutable perpetual antagonism. The Tlishop of Newcastle described the work >of the Church in Australia.

The Archbishop of Sydney presided at a combined devotional meeting of all sections of the congress at the Albert Hall, 8000 being present. This was the final meeting of the congress. An impressive address was given by the Bishop of Durham.
