The flovcrnnicnt has decided to pay Burns, I'liilp and Co.'s Singapore service a subsidy of ,€2OOO a year as long as Victoria pays a similar subside t» the Currie line. If Burns, Philp'an.l Co. earn- out their threat to shift their headquarters to Victoria or dork their v«ssel s in Melbourne the subsidy will cease.
