MR. B. C. KOBBINB FAREWELLED AT HAWEBA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hawera, Last Night.
Mr. B. C. Bobbins, who has for the past twenty-live years resided in Hawera and taken a leading part in tlw civic life of the town, including that of Mavor. w-as this afternoon fare-welled by "the citizens prior to his departure for Wellington, where he will in future reside. The Mayor, Mr. 11. W. Sutton, presided, and with other speakers referred eiilogisticullv to the many good service,. Mr. bobbins had rendered to the borough. Mr. Bobbins was also presented with.au address (accompanied by a pur*e of sovereigns), which expressed the appreciation 0/ the citizens for his good work as borough councillor and Mayor. Particular mention was made of 'Mr. Bobbins' useful work ill the interests of education. Mr. Bobbins ids > received a large framed photograph of the Borough Council while he -was Mavor las! year. The meeting concluded with 'cheers for Mr. and Mrs. Bobbins.
