lly Telegraph—Press Association, l'almerston X., Hast Night, The conference of the National jjauy Association was commeuced to-day, Mr. Foreman presiding, and delegates from all iparts uf the Dominion being present. The chairman in the course, of his address, congratulated the A.--otialion on its financial position, pointing out that the credit balance was .€l4O in excC'sH of hist year's. He referred to .the approaching return of Mr. Oiuldie, .Daily Commissioner, expressing the wish tint he might have arrived in time fo'r liie conference. Mr. Maekay, who had been sent Home, had been picking up considerable, information regarding the distnbution of produce which would be of as' sistancc.
There was a very long discussion a.=, to whether the Hairy Association sliould affiliate with the Employers' so as to be better titled to meet the d-'-mands of dairy factory workers, a dispute in connection .with which is ';.ow proceeding in the district. Mr. W.'Pryor, secretary of the Fed >ration, addressed tile Association on the benefits of affiliation, and it was eventually decided to recommend the executive of "the Association to alliliate with tin Federation.
Several speakers denounced town tgitators for fostering disputes flint occurred in the country, it being pofnted out that the trouble was caused by ''was , ers," not workers.
The, New Zealand Butter Factory Managers' and jSmployees' Association also met this evening.
