TREMENDOUS OUTBURST OE ENTHUSIASM.
PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S IRREVOCABLE DECISION.

The convention of 700 Republican delegates supporting Senator Taft's election elected Senator Lodge permanent chairman.
Senator Lodge, in a speech, eulogising President Roosevelt's policy, and describing President-Roosevelt as-the best abused and the most popular man in tho United States to-day, evoked a trenundous outburst, the enthusiasm lasting ;o minutes and a demonstration was made in favor of renewing President Koosevelt's term.
Senator Lodge, resuming, declared that President Roosevelt's refusal of re-nom-ination was made out of loftiest motives, holding as he ditT that he was not able to do so out of loyalty to American tradition.
