PAINTERS' STRIKE. Received 18th, 12.5 a.m. Sydney, June 17. The Arbitration Court has decided that it cannot deal with the painters'trouble, because the men went on itrike. DALGETY AND CO. Sydney, June 17. It is stated On good authority that Mr. -Macintosh, president of the Government Savings Bank, has been appointed superintendent of Dalgcty's New Zealand business. ' Received 18th, 12.5 a.m. Sydney, Last Night. The Premier states he has received intimation from Mr. Macintosh that it is his intention to resign charge of th'J Savings Bank. A BLASTING ACCIDENT. . Melbourne, June 17. _ By the premature explosion of a bhufc m the Long Tunnel mine at Wallmllak live men were grievously injured. One had his hands almost torn off.
