A SUDDEN DEATH.

n. M. Marryutt, aged 65 years, died very suddenly at Milton to-day while walking home to Jmich with his dimeter. lie had suffered from heart trouble for some time and was being medically attended. lie liad resided in the district since 1802, and was head clerk at "McI Gills' flout mills.
THE LYTTIiLTOX KAIL,WAY ACCIDENT.
Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. John Gilroy, chief engineer of the s.s. Kaituna, who lost both feet by eing run over at Lyttelton yesterday, -', nd who is at present in the Lyttelton casualty ward, is reported to be progressing favorably, but it is too early yet to day definitely whether he will recover.
BURNED TO DEATH.
Christchurch, Lust Night. A married woman, named Mary Collins, was found in her home at Waiau on Friday burned to death. Mr. Geo. Bradford, a local baker, noticed the house in flames, and 011 going to the scene lie found the woman lying dead face downward in an open fireplace. He extricated the body (which was burned beyond recognition), and apposed Constable Bird at Cnlvcrden. An inquest, was held on_ Saturday, when a verdict of death by accidental burning was returned. It seems the woman was alone in the house at the time and must have bad a seizure.

KILLED IN A SAWMILL.
Auckland, Tuesday. A. C. Ellis had one lug severed above the knee while working at Koutou sawmill. He died from the effects of the injury.
