The Kaiktmra Racing Club seems 10 bo in difficulties. At a general meeting held last week a financial statement showed that the Club was £IS short of money to meet dividends due since last Boxing Day. A long and animated discussion ensued over the management of the club and the loose way the totaiisator was worked. A number of gentlemen went guarantors for the deficit, and it was resolved to request the responsible person to make up the deficiency of £72 2s on the totali.sator working on Boxing Day.
For cool cheek the following from ail Australian paper takes some wiping out:—"Some excitement was provided at the recent Tamworth meeting, when prior to the last race of the day a stranger started iielding under the name of "J. Flynn." Being several points over the odds, "Mr. Flynn" soon, had a connection, but when The Climax, who started a warm favorite, was returned the winner, those who did business with "Flynn" were returned their own and an 1.0. U. on the back of their tickets for the balanee of what they were entitled to receive. For failing to comply with a request to leave town "Mr. Flynn" was later on arrested in l'eelstrect oil a charge of vagrancy, for which he received fourteen days at the local Police Court." The fellow deserved fourteen YHARS!
