Carrol), Native Minister, at Wellington, Says lie ■wants to draw the Europeans and Maoris together. He intends to answer certain accusations made against him. He wants the Government to help bis people to develop mining in the Urewera country in a way that shall be fair to all. He desires to get miners' rights for the natives. He will also ask that the Government should advance money to improve the land so that the Maotis may work it for themselves and so that the country may be opened up by roads. Another abject of his visit is to get a right to fish in the rivers without a license. His party will proceed by easy stages to Wellington.
