THE NEW CLUB.

Notwithstanding the inclement wp.itiier, there was an attendance of ovr sixty memliers at the first genera l meeting of the recently-formed club. Mr G. Tisch presided. The minutes of the inaugural meeting were read and confirmed and a quantity of correspondence received. The report submitted by the interim committee, reporting in most favorab'i terms of the prospect* of the club, and reporting a membership of over 200, was adopted. The rules for the conduct of the dub, as submitted by the committee, were adopted with slight amendment. On the motion of Mr. Enroth, seconded by Mr. Ambury, the committee was heartily thanked for their report. It was decided to register the dub under the Unclassified Societies' Act. - The election of officers resulted as follows : President: O. Tisch, Esq. Vice-president: W. Kerr, Esq. Secretary and treasurer: Mr. A. Humphries. Committee: Messrs. W. Roberts, R. If. George, R. Colson. .1. L. Strang, K. Webster, P. Hopkins. W. Nichols, and J. McLeod. Trustees: Messrs W. Ambury, B. Enroth, and J. C. "Morey. It was resolved to commence the fill ancial year from July Ist prox., jnil members over 18 years of age may'b? enrolled before that date without submitting to the ballot, The report recommended the furnishing of a billiard room with two tabl'7, at a cost of about £250, also the provision of smoking, reading, commercial-;; and card rooms at an estimated furnish ing cost of .€l5O.
