EUCHRE AND CRIBBAGE ASSOCIATION.
A mooting of delegates ot' the recent-ly-tornied Fuclire and Cribbage Association was held at the Fir« llrigade Station ),ist night. The following were present :--..Uussrs. ,J. JJarvey (Amine Koad). \V. ii. Urillit'lw (FiWov Fire Kugade), H. Inch (New Plymouth Fir-. llrigade), J. 11. Shephard (Carringlon Koad), T. Partington {Court Waireka), and A. Hooker (Oddfellows). Mr. Haney, in the absence of the chairman j (.Mr. H. J. (iiibert). was voted to the j chair.
Rules of outside associations wer read. ami the following wen* decide, upon:- -A shield is to be played for 1c the amalgamated card clubs of the .Nev 1 Plymouth Kuchre and Cribbage Asso ciation, the shield to be held for twelv) months, the winner* to be for the shield: a win to count twe (joints and a draw one; eaih club to bo represented by a team of not less than twelve player-*, and should any club Hot be hilly represented tho club fully represented to score by default points for all unplayd games; each dub to appoint a captain who shall have charge of the team and who shall be able to appoint substitutes from members of his own club, should any he present and be required to play, substitutes only to he appointed should any member picked by his club to play be unable to attend: he captain shull inform each scorer of he appointment of such substitute or substitutes, and he shall sign the -core.u the evening's play if considered cor-
I rect: all games -to commence at 8 p.m. | no person to sit near, staim behind, o I near a player, or sp'?ak or interfere ii any manner wiMi a player; no obscen. language to be used and no intoxicating liquor to be allowed; should the execu tive think lit to add to or withdraw from t'hose rules, they may do so, but not before giving the clubs due notice thereof; eaih crib-player on finishing pla.v is to place his hand face up on the table in front of him; that in euchre the only words to be used be "pass/' "pick up," or "<urn down."
It was decided that each club contribute ."is to tlie funds of the Association. The election of oilieers was held over indefinitely.
The night of play is to be arranged by captains of teams.
