METHYLATED SPIRITS.
SUPPLYING IT TO PROHIBITED PERSONS, SOME PERTINENT REMARKS. Ter Press Association. Jlasterton, La St Night. The supplying of methylated spirits to prohibited persons was a matter upon which the chairman of the Masterton Licensing Bench (Mr. W. P. Jamea) made same pertinent remarks before tao closo of the sitting to-day. He said there were two persons Subject to prohibition orders, both persons of good social standing, who made a practise of satisfying their cravings for drink with methylated spirits. JIo thought that chemists and storekeepers should, when they noticed customers frequently purchasing quantities of spirits, know such persons were using such spirits for drinking purposes. Tile committee felt the matter had only to be drawn attention to and in future methylated spirits would not be so readily available to prohibited person.s,
