A fireman named Joseph Zimmerman, belonging to tin- steamer Jesse Burns, which is discharging hardwood .from Australia, wont on board the vessel and. it is alleged, used insulting language 1.0 another seaman, Atliol Zani. The. latter left the lorccastle and was challenged by Zimmerman to light. It is further alleged that Zimmerman proeiircil two knives and that a light ensued, Zani receiving eleven wounds, one of which ], tiietriited the lung-'. Zani was removed to the hospital. Zimmerman has been arrested.
