Received 27th, 12.51 a.m. Sydney, May 20. The half-yearly meeting of the Bank of New South Wales was held to-day. The net profits for the half-year were •£150,741. With the balance from last half, this leaves £156,741 to be distributed as follows:—Dividend at the rateof 10 per cent; reserve, £30,000; carried, forward £30,988.

The president stated that trade generally throughout Australia and New Zealand was quiet but might bo considered' sound.
