WESTPORT MURDER CASE.

At the inquest on Edmund John Bourke, William Murray, brass boy on the Rosamond, practically contradicted the evidence of Connelly, brass boy on the Talitne, so tar as he knew. Duncan, a groom, saw no horses were put mil of their stalls on the night of llonrke's death. Constable Butlar and L. Cockery deposed that llallinan, one of the accused, admitted the assault on the man witncisses described to him, giving llonrke's description. Halliiiau illustrated how he struck and kicked the man, slating he had settled him and done for him. Westport, Saturday Night. At the inquest on the body of Edward .lohn liourke, who was found dead in McLaughlin's cartfhed on M*y 8, the jury found, after consideration, that thev were led to believe liourke met his death by foul play, and Connelly (brass boy on the steamer Xaltine). ami llailnieu and Anderson (seamen of file steamer Canopus). were all implicated in his death. Hulimen and Anderson stand charged with murder, and come before the Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Connelly is the Crown's chief witness against the two prisoners.
