THE SYDENHAM CASE.
UNDUTIFUL SON FOUND GUILTY. Per Press Association Christchureh, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day \Vm. ■Alex Robinson was indicted for that being the son of Margaret and having up to May 11th charge of the said Margaret I'obinson, who by reason of her age and sickness w'a-s unable to provide herself with the necessaries of life, he did on April loth and subsequent days and up to the decease of Margaret Robin/on on May lltli, oimt, without lawful excuse, to supply the said Margaret Piobinson with the necessaries of life, by reason whereof she died, am! by such omission he did commit tile crime of manslaughter. On a second count the accused was indicted for manslaughter for failing to provide his mother with medical attendance and a competent nurse.
A verdict of guilty was returned, based oil the fact that accused had failed to call ill a medical man, which failure was due to an error of judgment. The Judge ordered accused to pay .CIO towards the cost of the prosecution anil ordered him lio come up for sentence when called upon.
