WELLINGTON SITTINGS. Per Press Association. Wellington, Friday. At the Supreme Court to-day, Wallace 1 Herbert Stewart was charged with forgery. The jury returned a verdict that licensed was guilty of uttering a receipt, . but did not consider it was done with criminal intent. The Judge said there was sutlicient doubt about the verdict to make it desirable to obtain the decision ofthe Appeal Court as to the cll'oct of the jinding. Accused in the meantime would be admitted to bail. Frederick Percy Pilcher, nineteen years of age, for forgery and larceny, was sentenced to three months imprisonment without hard labor. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supremo Court to-day, John Sidney iCincst with stealing XIIS from a deaf mute named David Sutherland, was found guilty of receiving the money knowing it tu have been stolen. lie was sentenced to nine mouths' imprisonment. Frank JJUiilimen, charged with assaulting a woman with criminal intent at Daunevirke, was found guilty and sentenced to live years'.

AUCKLAND SITTINGS. Auckland, Last Night. # At the Supreme Court to-day, Frederick Summers and Stephen Jones were indicted on a charge of stealing from the s.s. Waikare on Mav Ist a suit of clothes, a watch and chain, and 7s (id iu money, the property of the master of the vessel, Captain Burnett. The jury, after a short retirement, found Summers guilty of theft anil Jones guilty of receiving the .stolen property, knowing it to be .stolen. Both prisoners were sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, with hard labor. William Doyle pleaded guilty to a charge of being an incorrigible rogue and vagabond, and was remanded for sentence. William Brown, on a similar charge, was found guilty and also remanded.
