PROVINCIAL NEWS.
WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the hall guarantors was held in the hall on Monday last. A fair number were present, Mr. T. Julian, sen., presided. The balancesheet was read, and showed the overdraft to be £UB 10s 9d. A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman, secretary, and euchre party committee for their past services. Messrs. T. Julian and C. 11. King were re-elected chairman and secretary respectively. .Messrs. Y. Kobinson, W. 11. Clarke, W. lievell, AY. Mrbachlan, T. E. barking, and C. 11. King were appointed a committee to manage entertainments during the winter nionbhs in aid of the hall fund. Jl was decided to erect a shed to put the copper in. The committee formed a working bee, and the building was erected the next day, and other necessary work was done at the same time. 11 was decided that in future the public be invited to all the annual meetings of the guarantors. A working bee has been at work on the W'area and Xcwell road, last week, repairing it. .Mrs. Murphy, who lias been in the New Plymouth hospital for several months, owing to an accident which resulted in her breaking her leg, returned home last Saturday. The Hall Committee held a meeting in the hall on .Monday night to consider the proposal to hold a ball on Empire Night in aid of the hall funds. Alter a long discussion it was decided to hold a dance on that night.
