The Clyde correspondent of the Daily TinU's reports that a young man named James Shriek lost his life last night while attempting to cross the Molyneaux in a chair. lie missed his seat in tho chair as it moved from the staging, and hung on to the side of the box until immediately over the centre of tho river, where lie remained for some time. His call for help was heard. He loft go his hold, and fell into the river. He floated for some distance and finally ■disappeared in a whirlpool about 200 yards from the scene of the accident, lie was a native of Futearoa.
