ATTEMPTED MURDER.
COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Per l'ress Association, Ohristchurch, Last Night. The hearing of the charges against Frederick llall, of attempting to murdor \lexander James Muir, and of attemptin" to fire a revolver at Constable Moriarty, came on at the Lyttelton Police Court .to-day, and excited interest sullicient H draw a crowd to the Courthouse. The injured man Muir arrived bv the 9.55 a.m. train from Cliristciiurch to attend the CoiU't, and his arrival caused quite a stir, a considerable ' number of people following him along the street. He appeared to be still suffering from the effects of his wounds, and iiad to sit in Court while giving evidence. A considerable quantity _of ■evidence relating to the alleged crime was heard, and Hall was committed for trial at the next criminal sessions.
