Caradoc Kerry for £II,OOO, alleged false icpieseutations respecting guano islands 1> the Sooth Pacific. Meakin gave Kerry jMOOO cash, ami •lieges he expended £SOOO in promoting a company on the representation that the guano deposits were valuable. The deposits were afterwards shown to be so valueless that the subscriptions were returned to the shareholders. The name of T. Caradoc Kerry sounds familiar, and if we mistake not be is the cultured individual who made a haul over the wreck of the yacht Aria<h<* 4 near Timaru a few years ago. and subsequently brought into unenviable ipnjfninence in London in connection With an expedition to the South Atlan tic islands.
