In connection with the protest by Invercargill exporters against the action of the Government regarding the inspection of potatoes at the port of arrival, and the request for inspection, at the port of shipment, a meeting of Dunedin merchants wa-s held to-night, when it was decided to send the followicgiai" to the Minister of Trade and Commerce:—"Dunedin merchant, have unanimously agreed to ask vou to giant permission for grader to certify nort V? 0,1 r° tatoes »t the port of shipment, instead of at the port of destination, as the matter is of vital 'JX f°. shippers '" 14 ™ decked 'that view of the regulations, 'evcenl II potatoes be made •except the certificate of a grader or Hon l atrt '° nSe l P 7 S ° n aS t0 the condiert ?
