SUTTON'^ DEVON EAVER RYE, IT IS PEMiNNIAL \ ANI> IT WILL NOl 1 BIN OUT. is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Eaver— It Is over 100 years old.
As Hyo-grusi» is Uio principal grass in all pastures £or sheep or cattle, it is \cry important that tiio greatest caution end cure bo exercised ill securing seed which will prove percnniall and will not run out. Experience in England has proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives nut only a grass which will last for all time, hut one which has easily a roater feeding value than all others, hsuietly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Bay and liawke'u Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, and are as good to-day as they ever were; in fact, each year they improve, Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of liye in faraiiaki are those very old fasturcs which were sown down wi;h t liia old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It hus held better Hum all the seeds sown and gathered in the colony. Although (he best Colonial Rye, even ! fmi Mission Stations, may die out in lime, the Devon tower, brough here by the missionaries some fifty years ago, though sown in many different localities, remains in the ground today; this applies also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years i-.go. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Eye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for SuttoJs Devon Eaver. This is such a well-known fact amongst the more observant Taranaki farmers that we are pressed oil all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We iiAve sold out our first two- shipments, and the third, comprising 20 tanks, lias just arrived per Corinthie. A largo quantity of this has been jool'.ed for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Rye all comes out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Devon on Eaver fye Grass Seed with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is as great a difference as between sunshine ana darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which >i as been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction. REMEMBER—IT IS THE ONf.Ti TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. If you wish we can also supply a prime simple of Colonial Rye, weighing 32Ibs to the bushel, which cannot bt beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. We also stock: —Cowgrass, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Major Italian Rye, Meadow Foxtail, Crested Dogstail, Poa Pretensis, Poa Twin]. Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy clean, Akaroa leed), and all other seeds. Write or wire us foT samples. E. GRIFFITHS AND CO., SEEDSMEN, EGMONT STREET, NEW PLYMOUTH.
