AUSTRALIAN PREMIERS' CONFERENCE.

Received Utli, 12.00 a.m. Melbourne, May 5. The Premiers' Conference waited all day vainly lor Mr. Deakin's promised financial proposals. It is believed the Federal tlovernment is nervous about presenting tliem for fear of a hostile reception. The Conference resolved that the providing of lighthouses on the Australian and TaSuianian coasts is a matter of urgent and pressing necessity, and the Federal Government is to be aaked to take definite action in the matter.
