A male patient at Porirua Menial Hospital, named Jeremiah llouchen, aged 4G, died this morning as the result : of drinking a tobacco solution used tor spraying plants. Another patient also drank some of the insecticide, but llie medical staff saved his life. A NARROW ESCAPE. Gishorne, Saturday. An elderly couple named Thompson had a narrow escape from death by burning at Te TGiraka. Their residence was discovered to be on lire by Constable Doyle and two neighbors, who rushed in and brought out Heni Thompson. She is blind. Her husband was found lying on bis back on the floor near the bed, almost suffocated. FATALLY CRUSHED. '. Wellington, Last Night.
