Mrs. Item-, ington's illm-ss was iolallv unexpected., Mr. Ifeiniiigtdii received a telegram at Taihap,. on Thursday intimating Mrs. fiemnglon's sudden and serious illness, and hai-teiied lo Uastcrton as soon as, j possible, arriving here liv the Napier mail train at 3.30 o'clock this afternoon. Deceased was a native of Sussex, I England, and M'as 37 years of ago. Two daughters (Mrs. A. tew-in, of Masterton, and Mrs. P. C. Remington, of Wellington) and one son (Mr. Harry Edward*, of New Plymouth), besides Mr. Remington, are left to mourn their loss. Oreymoutli, Last Night. A very old resident of the town, in the person of .lames Coakley, 73 years of age, passed away to-night. Deceased was ~ prominent 'figure |in-'th* -foul I ™ s, '<' s of II u-ly davs of the Coast. He leaves a grown-up family.
