THE VATICAN HORRIFIED.

[ Rome, April 21. A professor of Vienna University, his wife, and a friend, gained through the Austrian Ambasador»at Rome admittance to the Pope's private mass. The Pope and the two hundred faithful who were present were horrified to see them receive from the Pope the consecrated wafer and then eject it from their mouths. Thereupon they were' expelled.

The Austrians have declared themselves Jews. They say they expected to kiss the Pope's hands, but did not know what to do with the wafer. They did not mean to show disrespect by their conduct.
