A BRUTAL MURDER
GIRL BUTCHERED IN A PADDOCK. A SUSPECT ARRESTED. Received April 15, 11.8 p.m. Sydney, April 15. A girl named Lilian Bridge, aged 10, daughter of a dairy farmer near Maitland, was found butchered in a paddock. Her head was fearfully battered, the weapon having evidently been a tomahawk or an axe. A young man named Green has been arrested on suspicion of being the author of the murder.
