Per Presß Association. Wellington, Last Night. Richard Thomas, a cook, aged 4 years, was found drowned near til l King's wharf this morning. At the iu quest it. was shown that deceased hat been committed to prison for drunken ness recently, and some weeks ago at tempted suicide. A verdict of i'ouiu drowned was returned. dental surgery this afternoon, when Mrs. J' B. llolUer expired whilst uudci chloroform prior to a dental operation, Deceased, who was about 42 vears ot age, was examined prior to the administration of the anaesthetic by l)r. Col-
lins, in the presenile of Mr.'Crawford [ the dentist,, and Mrs. Lucas, and in tin ! opinion of the doctor deceased was a lit subject for chloroform. A few seconds after the administration of the chloroform, the doctor noted that the pupil? of the eyes were dilated, and other indications of heart failure were apparent, He at once applied restorative measures. The patient recovered a iilLle, but almost immediately collapsed. Death i< attributed to heart failure. An inouest will be held.
