LIMITING CREDIT.
I Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At a general meeting of the Auckland Master Grocers* Union, held on Tuesday night at the offices of the Employers' Association, it was unanimously decided that Empire Day should this year be observed by the grocers as a holiday, instead of the Prince of Wales' birthday. A lengthy discussion took place on the question of credit. It was assorted that a pernicious "habit was becoming all too prevalent amongst a certain class of people of victimising tradespeople by obtaining unlimited credit for goods, and by misrepresentations made I to shopkeepers. With the object of reduemg risks it was decided that in future all members of the Master Grocers' Union will refuse to give credit to any person by whom accounts for groceries are known to be owing until such debts have been liquidated.
