THOUGHTS ON BUSINESS.
A man often shows his real calibre by his willingness to assist in working out a plan which did not originate with him, and which he may not fully approve. In every business there are times when two men think very differently about a proposition. Both cannot have their way, and the matter must lie decided arbitrarily. It too often happens, then, that thc disappointed one. with more nr less show of feeling, washes his hands of the whole affair, and refuses to take hold and help put the matter throngj in thc way that has been decided on. But even if he is under the necessity of taking hold and doing part of the work he often does not pm his heart into it, and would, perhaps, rather see it fail than win because it was not his own plan. It is seldom a question of moral right and wrong that is involved, but rather one of opinion as to the best business I expediency. In manifesting such a 1 spirit under those circumstances a man advertises his small-mindedness in n most conspicuous manner. It is always" refreshing to see thc opposite kind of man—one who puts the interests of the business alxivc the personal satisfaction of having his own way—a man who, when the decision has' been made contrary to bis opinions, lavs aside those opinions and puts his shoulder to the wheel to help make the other plan a success. Such men are needed for au example in every business organisation.
