N.Z. MADE GOODS.
—__» PKOPOSED EXHIBITION.
Per Press Association, Auckland, Last Night.
In connection with the Auckland Industrial Association's movement for an exhibition of New Zealand-made goods, it has been decided to inaugurate the same as a New Zealand industrial week. Circuity's have been sent out to the various shopkeepers in Auckland asking them to state which of the threo proposals they approve—(l) A shop window display only; (2) a shop window display in conjunction with a collective exhibition in a hall; (;l) an exhibition in a hall onlv. Those circularised have been asked in the event of their favoring either of the lirst two schemes, whether they will allow their shop windows to be used, and if so, what apace will be available to-morrow. The committee of the Association intend visiting the principal shopkeejH'rs to confer on the subject. .So far tlm replies to the circulars have been favorable. As tar as can Im' gathered the idea of holding the exhibition in one form or another is being heartily taken up, and there is every prospect of one of the proposals eventuating. The local Association is in communication with the Wellington ami Canterbury Associations, with a. view u> concerted action being taken. The local exhibition would not be eonlined to Auckland goods, but would embrace all classes of the Dominion manufactures. Mr. J. J. Mackie, secretary of the Auckland Industrial Association, is already receiving inquiries from the south as to the form the exhibition will take, ami it would appear that the only question that will need facing will be how to keep the display within a reasonable limit.
