THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.

OHE MEN'S DETERMINATION. A LBCTUItER'S OPINION. Per Press Association, Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. W. K. Pritchard. one of the delegates appointed by the Blackball Union to deliver addresses in various parts ot the Dominion on "The Blackball Strike and what led up to it," arrived in Dunedin this evening. When interviewed,

> he said the union would certainly be. unanimous in sticking out for what it has demanded. The workers were de- , tennined not to go back to work until they were conceded liaif an hour for orib. He was also positive that th? men would go to gaol in preference to paying the line. Subscriptions received to date as a result of addresses amount, ed to just on £2OO. Mr. Pritchard pays lus own expenses. He made a statement that from private information h° was possessed of, and which he was no: in a position to divulge, he would notbe surprised if he received a wire at auv lime that the strike was settled. -MUTTERS UNCHANGED. There are no new developments m connection with strike matters at Blackball. The statement that negotiations for a settlement seem to have no foundation as far as the local management ii concerned. The manager, on beni" interviewed, states lie has had no com" ference with the union for weeks, and can only account for the statement that the directors in Christehurch might be moving in that direction. There has * been no further meeting of the unio/i, 6 and matters remain unchanged. ' e
