THE NAPIER CARNIVAL. Per Press Association. Napier, Last Night. The carnival bowling competitions woro continued on Saturday when, despite occasional heavy showers in the afternoon, fair progress was made. The playing off of the tie for the first place in the B section of the rink matches was proceeded with first. Giaborne beat Greenmeadows, and Bluff Hill beat Palmerston North. The semi-final between Gisborne and Bluff Hill resulted in an easy win for the former by 27 points to 10. A number of games in the pairs matches were played, with the following results:—Tabuteau and Dean lfi beat Bear and Fletcher 13; Williamson and Ricketts 22 beat Hayward.and Asher 18; Hindmarsh and Beataon 29 beat Miller and Patterson 17; Terry and Siinm 21 beat Wrightson and Ruston 19; Porteous and Goodger 23 beat Cochrane and Holling 17; Bull and Yates 17 beat Smith and Treston 15; Dean and Tabuteu 23 beat Fox and Smith 16; CunningWu and Bunting 25 beat Rice and Thompson 15; Cowell and Williams 21 beat Smith and Hall la; Simnis and Terry 21 beat Beatsou and Hindmarsh 10; Cowell and Williams 22 beat Simmonds and Currie 8; Yates and Bull 22 beat Cunningham and Bunting 14; Martin and Martin 17 beat Fielder and Holt 14. The final of the rink matches between Gisborne and St. John's will be played on Monday morning. The following players have been selected to represent the New Plymouth Bowling Club in the return match against Fitzroy Club, to be played at Fitzroy on Thursday next at 2.30 p.m.:! Alexander, Smart, McAUum, S. Rundle, J. O. George, S. Hooper, Ad. Goldwater, W. Morey, Collins, C. Rundle, Fookes, MoKellar, Humphries, 0. Clarke, Watkins, S. Hill. Should any of the above be unable to play, they are requested to notify the secretary as early as possible.

The final rink match for Mr. Smith's prize will be played on the same day on tho town green at 2 o'clock between Hall's and Smart's rink.
