MO FL'RTHER, UKVIOLOI'M KX'TS. | Per Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. There are no fresh developments at Blackball. The miners held a meeting this afternoon, but nothing was done of any importance and no resolutions put.

The manager staU's that be has had no communication with the union during the week, and matters are at a standstill. He is prepared, whenever the miners wish, to agree to the terms he made last week, agreeing to twenty minutes' crib time. The Grey Vinarf Laborers' Union have expressed regret at the strike and disapproval of the men s action. 'Mr. Mcl Cellar, of Christehureh, is at present at Blackball, making inquiries into the position. Several people from Greymouth have tried to reason with the miners, but have failed, the last being a. well-known clergyman. DUNEDIN UNIONISTS' ATTIU'UDE.

Dunedin, Last Night. The Otago Trades and Labor Council this evening passed the following re'solution in regard to the Blackball strike:—"That, in view of the fact that the Council believes in the principle of conciliation and arbitration in labor disputes, it cannot see its way to advise affiliated unions to grant assistance to Blackball miners." A COMPROMISE POSSIBLE. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. P. 11. Hickey, one of the dismissed miners, will arrive in AVellington on Saturday. Arrangements are being made to hold a public lheeting in the evening, at which he will lie asked to speak oil the matters in dispute between the Miners' Union and the Blackball Coal Co. The Now Zealand Times has it as from a reliable authority that certain overtures are now under consideration by the Union which will permit of a compromise Iwing arrived at in the course of the next few days.
