Per Tress Association. Palmerston X., Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice. Cooper, William Waugh, a settler of Stoney Creek, was found guilty of assaulting and causing grievous bodily harm to Constable Connor, the affair taking place in December last. The constable was endeavoring to arreat Waugh for druiikennes when the latter stabbed him with a knife he hart in his hand. Mr. C. P. Skerrett appeared on behalf of the accused, and Succeeded in knocking out the major count of intent to cause grievous bodily harm. A large amount of evidence was heard on both sides, the case occupying the greater part of the day. Chas. Fitton was found guilty on three counts of assaulting William Roach at the Mangawcka saleyards. Both accused will be brought up for sentence to-morrow.
