The committee took this opportunity of thaSking all others who rendered assistance lo the club during last season. A word

of praise was due to the local press for 1 their careful reports of matches, often secured at great expense to themselves. tionailv reasonable. Mr. "H. Avery moved that it be a recommendation to ihe management committee to pay half cost of the travelling expenses of the second junior team. Mr Brown seconded, and 'aid that several of the third grade players were not able to bear all this cost of travelling.

Mr. Clarke said he was quite in sympathy with the resolution, but it could not be done unless the lirst and second teams paid up their subs and their travelling expenses. Now that the West Coast has be-i divided into three district-, namelv, (fpunake, ftaholu, and Oka to, each cbib ought to be able to put a team into th" field that will hold its own with aire outside team. Instead of Warea. Okafn and Oakura being three separate clubs, as they were last year, they are nowall one club, viz., Okato. The boundaries are from the Ncwall road on the south, and the Tapuac stream on the north.

"The referees ar e working on the honorary basis. They get nothing but abuse for pay, but they get plenty ot that," said a speaker at the Star Football Club meeting last night.
