Per Press Association. I Wellington, Last Night. There was a large gathering of ladies and others at the Town Hull thu afternoon. The gatlicring was held uiid-jr the auspices of the Society lor the Protection of Women and Children, and was held to further the movement inaugurated hy Or. Trilby King for the. protection of infant life. It was decided to call nurses employed by the Wellington Society "Lady Piiuiket i Nurses," in honor of her Excellency Lady Plmiket, who is taking such a keen interest and an active part in furthering the objects of the Society. Lady Plunket addressed the Meeting, 'trging the need for improved feedin. ..I infants and better attention to mothers and prospective mothers. Ors. portion of infantile nmrlality is preventible, being due to improper feeding and ignorance generally on the part of mothers. The need for 11 purer milksupply was emphasised by most of the speakers.
