THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.

Crevniouth, Monday. , 'A suggestion made by Mr. Lonias, of the Labor Department, for a conference between the Blackball Union and the mine agents to endeavor to settle the points in dispute and to refer matters on which agreement might not be arrived at to the Arbitration Court was rejected by the Union. The employers were agreeable to this course. Oevmouth, Last Night. 'A representative of the Argus interviewed Mr. Lnmas. of the Labor Department, yesterday. Mr. Lonias stated he had tried to effect a settlement, but the overtures were declined. Tie stated there "was nothing new to report. The Arbitration Court would sit on Wednesday morning and deal with the matter.
