| Per Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. Vessels arriving report terrific weaker on tile coast. The Union Company's Wairuna experienced au exceptionally heavy sea crossing the Bay of Plenty. Several outward-bound vessels returned to port. Damage done to small craft Is estimated at £IOOO. Pour oil' launches broke adrift during the night, and tyci'o battered to pieces. A heavy northerly gale and plenteous rain -were experienced last night. Stormy conditions continue. Several small craft have been driven ashore.
HARBOR CRAFT LOST. Auckland, Lust Night. The damage by flie gale is estimated at over ,C 2000.' A number of tats, some of them valuable craft, wore <lestroved. including the yachts Hinemoa andTerrahiki, the launches Rochest?v (owned by Mr. Hare), Thornycroft (owned by Kyan and Co.), and Napier (owned by R. Logan, sen.). Shipping lias had a rough time, all steamers arriving reporting having experienced severe buffeting.
