In the Supreme Court this alternoon, 1 the Grand Jury returned true bills ag.iinst Yep Duck ami Charles .Montague. T. N. John, charged with thefl and violent assault, was found guilty of technical common assault and sentence was deferred till to-morrow. The case against Charles Montague, charged with attemped indecent assault at Xgaiiere on 12th November, was commenced and the Court adjourned.
Napier, Lust Night. At the Supreme Court to day Frederick Ewart and 'J'hos. Anderson, each charged with stealing, were acquitted. Luther Martin Murray, found guilty of sheep-stealing, was sentemvd on those charges and also on the charge of assault with intent to roll, for which he was convicted yesterday, to five years' imprisonment on each cnarge, the sentences to he concurrent, ((eorge Adams was found guilty of assault and remanded for sentence. .lames Campbell was found guilty- of an attempt to damage the stenner lender Tunica, and remanded for sentence in file morning. Robert Clins. Brown was found guilty of common assault on a Chinaman, and sentenced to 30 days' imprisonment. His Honor said lie could not allow the haiting of Chinese. John Godfrey was found guilty of uttering and theft of three cheques, pnd was remanded for sentence in (he morning.

The Conference made tlie following appropriations for the. ensuing year:— Church Building and Loan Fund, £175; Contingent Fund. £175; Home Mission Fund, £55; Fire Insurance, £100; Authorised Representative's Office, £2O. A series of resolutions in connection with the furtherance of tile bible class movement was rc-affirmed.
